What is C.OD.E. Hack ?C.O.D.E. Hack is a three-day interactive event where students can take part in various events celebrating the advancement of technology in the modern world. Attendees work together in teams or individually to complete challenges that increase in complexity and are actively engaged, requiring deep collaboration, as they learn together.

Who should attend C.O.D.E. Hack ?C.O.D.E. Hack is designed for a wide range of students. While some events are designed for the students of the High School (9th to 12th Grade) students, there are other events that are open to the students of the Middle School (5th to 8th Grade). There are many benefits of attending SFHS C.O.D.E. Hack, but specifically, participants will gain the skills and expertise needed to deploy the specified technology workload in their future professions.

What is the C.O.D.E Hack experience ?The C.O.D.E. Hack experience is not just limited to coding or STEM subjects. We have tried our best to incorporate events about all the necessary skills for the versatile Tech World, and propose a platform to showcase both teamwork and individuality.

Is it a competition? If so, what is there to win?There are many branches of the C.O.D.E. Hack and most are competitive in nature. The winners will be awarded lucrative cash prizes.

Who is eligible to participate in C.O.D.E. Hack ?All students from Grades 5 to 12 are welcome to be a part of the C.O.D.E. Hack.

Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon?If you are a student from Grades 5th to 12th, you are more than welcome to participate in the Hackathon.

How is the environment? Will your environment support any language? Will you provide any IDE and DB for us to work on ideas?You have to develop the entire software application on your local system and submit it to our repository on Github.

Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon?Yes, the participants have to be online in the breakout rooms during the duration of the event.

Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using a number of pre-built libraries?There is no restriction to use any language, technology stack, or libraries. You can use any of them to create the web/mobile application.

Do I need to give a demo for what I have built?You will be required to make presentations, videos etc. for your unique idea. Prior to that, you can stub pieces of functionality in your application. It is important to demonstrate the communication capabilities within your application on the day of the event.

If it is a team submission, does that mean all team members will have access to work at the same time?Yes, all team members can login from their account and submit the application.

Who will own the IP (Intellectual Property) Rights to the product that I have built?All the IP’s of the application will remain with the participants. Please make sure that the idea submitted is an original idea and has not been used before.

What should I include in my idea submission?You need to write a detailed synopsis of your idea and how it functions. However, your idea will be given more points if you include the following: A - A synopsis of the idea. B - Presentations (in any form they feel comfortable – Word, PDF, PPT, Videos) about the idea. C - How you have utilized the components.

How should I upload the source code of the project?All instructions will be given during the event itself but the participants need to be familiar with Github.

How will the winning team be decided?The winning team will be decided based on the results from their prototype pitches.

Which teams will be allowed to perform a prototype pitch?The top 5 teams that have a working prototype will be selected from each of the three categories for their prototype pitch.

How do I know if my registration is confirmed and I am able to attend?C.O.D.E. Hack registration is open to any high school and middle school participants, however, the event organising team will need to approve and confirm your participation at the C.O.D.E Hack. You will receive the Letter of Confirmation of Registration after we have validated your application and registration fee.

Do I need to pay any money to register for the Hackathon?Yes, an amount of 1000 INR needs to be deposited for team registrations and an amount equivalent to 500 INR for Individual Registrations (more details are given on the Registrations Page)

Should I sign up alone or as a team?High School: Your team needs to be decided before registration. The team leader registers the whole team with all the participants' details. The first participant is the team leader. You can also register individually for the event. Please note that only in the Main Event you may work as a team but in the side-events your participation will be individual and it will have no impact while judging your team Project for the Main Event. Middle School: The Main Event for middle school is strictly individual.

1.You can participate either as part of a team of 2-5 members or as an Individual. Switching teams is not allowed.
2. A team may submit only one entry in any one of the three categories, which will be released on the day of the event
3. If the information provided during online registration is found to be incomplete and/or inaccurate, the entire team concerned will be disqualified.
4. The eligibility of a participant is tied to the eligibility of the team. If one member of a team is disqualified or found to be ineligible, the team as a whole may be disqualified
5. Each entry must be original, of the participant’s or participant’s team's own creation and newly written during the Hackathon. All entries must be presented and submitted in English. If for any reason an entrant’s submission is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, the entrant’s sole remedy is to provide another submission. If a submitted solution/ invention is copied or is plagiarized, the team will be disqualified.
6. Teams must stop hacking once the time is up. Teams can use libraries, frameworks, or open-source code in their projects.
7. All intellectual property rights in the applications of a participant shall remain vested in the participant who owns them. Any third party intellectual property rights shall remain vested in the third party or third parties who own them. Your submission shall not contain any content that violates any law or any third-party rights (including privacy and intellectual property rights)
8. The participants hereby agree and acknowledge that any photos, videos, and/or recordings taken during the Hackathon can be used by Strawberry Fields High School for any educational purposes including but not limited to any social media sites or platforms.
9. Entries must be suitable for publication and viewing by general audiences and must not include, describe or contain any harmful, illegal or unlawful activity or any content that is false, fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, defamatory, libelous (including trade libel), disparaging, harassing, threatening, profane, obscene, pornographic, hateful, indecent, inappropriate, or injurious to any party.
10. The cash prize will be credited to the winning team participant’s bank account only. It is the responsibility of the participant to provide correct details for on-time disbursement.
11. Undeliverable Prize - If the Prize is returned to the Promoter or undeliverable for whatever reason, the organizer may, at its sole discretion, re-deliver, re-distribute, or retain the returned Prize.
12. After the end of the Hackathon, contract source code of each solution must be open sourced and published at Github.
13. SFHS also reserves the right to cancel the event at any time whereupon participants shall obtain a full refund of any fees possibly paid hereunder.
14. Sponsors, judges, mentors, volunteers, organizers, and anyone else at the event are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, attendees should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material both in their hacks and during the event.
15. SFHS will determine participation eligibility, declare winners (including but not limited to in the event of a tie), and award prizes in its sole and absolute discretion. You agree that such decisions are final and are not subject to review or reconsideration.
16. The Organizers determines the Hackathon agenda and has the right to amend it also on the day on which the Hackathon is held, including the right to change the schedule, remove an event from the schedule, change the sequence of speeches, and the speakers. The Organizers shall inform the participants about each change on the website.
17. Protection of personal data: The participant allows the Organizer processing of personal data provided at registration and/or subsequently at Hackathon. The collection and processing of personal data relating to the participant by the Organizers are primarily intended to ensure that the Hackathon will be properly completed.
